How We Work
Editorial Policy
This page explains how LifeQuestioning is written and reviewed: we invite or hire writers, or they choose to write for us, they have full freedom except the published rules, how admins verify sources and links, how we review submissions for safety (including hate speech), how we use AI, and how we keep content accurate over time.
Who Writes LifeQuestioning
Writing reaches LifeQuestioning in two ways. We invite or hire a professional, or any person, to write for us. Or that person chooses to write for us on the submit page. In both cases they create a contributor profile and upload the piece themselves. Admins do not write the articles and do not create writer accounts.
Invited writers get an email-bound link. Only that inbox can verify, fill the profile, and submit. They have full freedom to choose the topic and write, except they must follow the published contributor rules. A verified badge is added only if they are a psychologist, counselor, therapist, or medical professional, or someone whose profession or degree qualifies them to write about these professionally and we have verified them from the details we can obtain. Email addresses stay private.
Who Chooses the Topic
We do not assign topics. The person writing the piece chooses what to write about: invited or hired writers, and people who submit on their own. That is the same rule for both paths. They have full freedom on the topic, except they must follow the published contributor rules.
There is no topic picker on the submit page. After we accept a piece, the team files it under a site category from the admin side. Category is filing, not the topic. When we review, we look for writing that invites reflection, not pieces that only chase search traffic.
Research and Sourcing
Most of our writing is reflective and perspective-based rather than a report of hard facts. Where we do state something as fact (a figure, a study, a definition, a quote), we cite or link to the source. Admins verify every source and link mentioned in an article before it goes live. A citation or URL that cannot be checked, or that does not support the claim, is removed or the piece is held back.
We try to represent more than one side of a human challenge rather than pushing a single viewpoint. When a topic is sensitive or health-adjacent, we are careful to frame it as general reflection, not professional advice.
Review and Editing
Invited writers and people who submit on their own go through the same review before anything is live. Nothing is auto-published. They choose their own topic and write it themselves. The team later files the article under a site category.
Review covers safety, originality, balance, and whether sources and links check out. We may change font size, color, or font style so a published piece matches the site standard. That does not change the writer's words or point. Grammar edits happen only if the writer allowed them. We do not change the topic or viewpoint.
Public Contributors, Professionals, and Safety Review
Readers may submit on their own, or we email an invite link so they can create a contributor profile and upload. They choose the topic and write it themselves. Everything on that form comes from them: email (verified with a one-time code), name, photo, bio, file, and optional profession and links. The team later files the article under a category. Nothing is published automatically. The original file stays available to the team and is not auto-edited.
If we publish the piece, the contributor’s profile is shown on the article. That is the credit they receive. A Super Admin may add a verified badge only if the person is a psychologist, counselor, therapist, or medical professional, or someone whose profession or degree qualifies them to write about these professionally, after we verify them using whatever details we can obtain. The badge is separate from editorial review of a single article.
We review every public submission before it can appear on the Site. One reason is to make sure we are not publishing hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that targets people for who they are. We also check originality, basic quality, other people’s privacy, and that the piece is reflection rather than professional advice or spam.
There is no separate admin writing path. Admins review, check sources and links, assign the category, and publish. Full legal rules, verification steps, and republication credit are in our Terms of Use.
Use of AI
The writer is the author. AI does not choose the topic, does not replace the writer, and does not get a byline. We do not publish unedited machine-generated text, and we do not generate a live article in someone else's name.
A writer may use AI as a tool while drafting. The file they upload is still their submission, and they are responsible for it. Admins may use AI only as a support tool during review, for example grammar, clarity, or checking a claim or link. A human admin still reviews every piece before it can go live, and that person is responsible for the publish decision, the source and link check, and whether the piece follows the published rules.
Updates and Corrections
After a piece is live, a fact can turn out wrong or a detail can go out of date. Admins may update the published article for those reasons. We may change font size, color, or font style so the piece matches the site standard. We do not rewrite a writer's piece to change their topic or viewpoint, and we do not take over authorship.
When we make a meaningful factual correction or a substantive update, we refresh the article's "last updated" date so readers know it changed. If we change a contributor's public profile (name, photo, or bio), we email that person. If they do not agree, they can contact us.
If you think we published a factual error or something now outdated, tell us through Contact. How we review and mark those fixes is in our Corrections Policy.
Independence and Feedback
Writers choose the topic. Accept, hold, or reject is our call, against the published rules. We do not sell a publish decision, and we do not assign what someone must write.
We do not run display advertising on the Site. If we ever add advertising or affiliate arrangements, they will not decide what we accept, what category we file, or what a writer is allowed to say beyond the published rules.
Reader feedback is welcome. If something resonated, missed the mark, or raised a new question, we want to hear it.
